  1. Always check BOE policy for action steps moving forward

  2. Make sure that Department of Health and Human Services (aka CPS) has been considered if necessary

  3. Contact and inform BOE

  4. Contact SRO or police in absence of SRO

  5. Conduct investigation, collect all witness statements

  6. Contact parents

  7. Contact District Attorney

  8. Separate student

  9. Finish investigation

  10. Discipline students based on Code of Conduct

  11. Debrief with Administrative Team
