Initiate actions contained in Emergency Operations Plan

Contact 911 and SRO

Send an admin to re-unification site.

Let police/emergency personnel control the scene.

Check BOE policy for action steps moving forward.

Contact and inform BOE and then other Admins

Create communication for that school’s staff.

Create communication for all district staff and community. Send to BOE first.

Contact District Attorney

Assemble the Crisis Team to prepare and plan. Contact neighboring district’s if additional social workers/counselors are needed

Work with police to develop a plan for staff and students to retrieve belongings, cars, etc.

Communicate with staff regarding the plan moving forward and support provided

Send communication out to parents that includes the plan and support provided

Work with Crisis/Safety Team to create any commemorative or vigil activities

Continue to seek guidance from District Attorney regarding what is needed for the District's investigation

Contact families of injured students and/or staff

Consider what is posted on the District’s website and social media
